Thrive: The Word for 2021

This is the year to thrive. Not just survive but thrive. What will it take for you to THRIVE?

Now more than ever, it is time to bring God into all areas of your life and specifically your finances.

Now is the time to get closer to God, to spend time alone with him, just hanging out with him and get to know him better. The more you know God, the more you know your identity and the more you understand his purpose for your life.

Knowing who he is and who you are meant to be, will give you a confidence that comes from no other place. An unshakeable confidence. One built on a firm foundation.

The systems on the earth are being shaken. Some will be destroyed and replaced. Some will need serious repair. But the systems are being shaken and this earth will change. We cannot continue on the path we are on especially not in America.

The do whatever you want, whatever you “feel” like and suffer no consequences are over. There are consequences to every decision we make or don’t make. Sometimes, avoiding making a decision for worry about the outcome can hurt you more than if you made the wrong decision.

Indecision can be costly. You can lose property, a business opportunity, a sale and even friendships by not making decisions. Deciding who to hang out with and who to marry are two of the biggest decisions you will ever make. So choose wisely. The same for business partners. You want to partner up with someone who has the same vision as you. This does not mean you will agree on everything (no two people ever do) but if you have the same vision for your business it makes agreement on the major decisions and implementation much easier.

So after 2020, which could be called the most bizarre year ever. Most people and business had severe ups & downs no matter what the results. Between the Covid-19 issue, the democratic party and media encouraging rioters to destroy our cities and businesses and the never ending election (which still has repercussions), the year 2020 was a doozy. Some of you came out great. Some of you, the year was a disaster. But for most of us, our perspective has changed.

I hope that 2020 has opened everyones eyes as to how important even little decision by our government can affect our daily lives. Sitting back and letting people rule over us with no accountability is done for. Letting politicians at all levels break the law for their party or shut down our economy to distort an election can never, ever happen again. Forgive me, I did not want to let politics into this article but the reality is, politics invading every area of our lives last year. I hope that everyone has their eyes wide open now.

So how do you THRIVE this year?

One, change your mindset. Decide that you are in control of your life and your destiny. You and you alone (along with God) can change your mindset and decide that regardless of the turmoil around you, this year 2021 is going to be fabulous.

You get to make the choice to take life by the horns and step out to become all that you can become. Step UP and Step OUT. It’s time to take the land. The mountains are going to melt away but you have to take the lead. This starts in your mind and your heart.

Two, get in alignment with God. Spend more time alone with God. Not just praying and praising – absolutely continue to do those things. But sometimes you just need to sit at his feet and enjoy his presence.

Also, read more of God’s word. So many people have a distorted viewpoint of God or they have no clue who he is. The Bible comes right out and tells you his plan for you and all of it is really, really good news.

God does not hurt anyone unless they side with evil and refuse to change their ways. But for all other humans, the ones that have made mistakes, made dumb decisions, hurt people, broke the law and screwed up all over the place. God is waiting for you to repent and start fresh. God is always willing to forgive and get you back on track for a fantastic life.

Three, BELIEVE. Believe what God says about you and believe that all things are possible with God. It doesn’t matter where you come from or what you’ve been through, The God of the impossible can turn it around.

You need to believe. Then you can receive and receive you will. I watched one of my mentors build a business in 2 years and is doing almost $20 million a year in sales. It is astounding. He isn’t even particularly a great businessman but he is a great salesman. He listened to God and did exactly what God asked him to do and God blessed him for it. The funny thing is, he had no idea what he was doing and he is the first to admit it. His lack of knowledge did not hurt him at all. Like most entrepreneurs, he learned as he went along.

But he had a vision and he knew who he wanted to help. He didn’t even know what that looked like in he practical sense. He simply developed it as he went a long. But he had a pure heart and really wanted to help other entrepreneurs. Did he screw up at times – Yes. Did he make mistakes – Yes. Did he turn some people off and offend some people – yes. Did he let that stop him – no. never.

Those of you that don’t feel “qualified” or aren’t sure or confident – learn as you go. If you really want to do something, you will figure it out. Also, you can find others to help you along the way. A good team by your side, experienced mentors and advisors will go a long way to saving you mis-steps that may sideline others.

Four: Set your vision. If you aren’t sure what your vision is pick one. Spend time with God and ask him what he wants you to do. You can also take my class “A Strategic Life, A Strategic Business” to help you hone in on your talents and purpose.

If you have multiple dreams or visions, choose one. Which one can you do right now? You aren’t going to build a life or an empire in a day. Start with what you can do right now and build on that.

Set your foundation on things that you are good at and enjoy. Your passion for what you do is what will carry you when times get rough. You will have rough times, they happen to everyone. But set your life and your business on a firm foundation and you will weather the storms just fine.

Five: TAKE ACTION

Now is the time. Now is the year. Stop procrastinating. Stop with the excuses and reasons. Stop waiting for everything to be perfect. No environment will ever be perfect. If the atmosphere is not good, change it.

If you can’t change it, move. I left the State of Michigan because the atmosphere was so closed down. I moved to Florida where things are open and I am thriving like never before. Will I be a half & half and live in both states – yes. The politicians need to stop playing games with our lives and our businesses. We can no longer tolerate their self-serving actions and behavior.

Back to you. Set your mind on what you want to do and do it. Don’t let anything get in your way. When you change your mindset to do what you set out to do, nothing can stop you.

Whenever I want to lose weight, I set my mind to it and make it happen. The same with my business. I have always helped my clients grow their businesses, now it’s time to grow mine. Once I set my mind to it and believed it was possible, things started to happen.

This year can be the most magnificent year of your life. No matter how old you are.

It is time to flourish. It is time to THRIVE.

Get your vision.   Set it in STONE.   On paper and in your mind.

Step up and step out because when you move forward watch God join you and make things happen.

Step forward. One baby step towards your goal will bring other resources to help you.

Step out and watch things happen. But keep on moving. Keep on taking action and don’t give up. Keep going until your vision comes to pass.

But don’t wait for some end point.

Enjoy the journey. Enjoy the experience. Enjoy the best year of your life.
